Allison and Tatiana are two of the most admired musicians on the American roots music scene, with a driving old time sound and masterful musicianship. The acclaimed Canadian-American duo draws on additional influences from folk and bluegrass, creating a sound that’s adventurous and original, as well as traditional. Canadian banjoist Allison de Groot has achieved success and renown as a member of Molsky’s Mountain Drifters and The Goodbye Girls, and in a duo with step dancer Nic Gareiss. American fiddler Tatiana Hargreaves is celebrated for her mastery of multiple fiddle styles, and has performed and recorded with luminaries including Jake Blount, Laurie Lewis, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. Tatiana has also worked with the legendary Alice Gerrard on her archive and documentary. Allison and Tatiana’s 2019 debut album highlighted the diverse contributions of female, African-American and Indigenous musicians to American folk traditions, and garnered glowing reviews. Their second album HurricaneClarice (2022) continues their adventurous approach to traditional music, and has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award. The duo appeared as guest stars on the Transatlantic Sessions live tour this February, and return to our shores in May 2023 for their own much anticipated UK tour. Expect an enthralling mix of beguiling fiddle and banjo tunes and powerful songs. More info and ticket links for UK tour dates can be found at bit.ly/AllisonTatianaUK2023
