We are really excited to have these two amazing artists come and start their UK tour on a Tuesday evening at the Buildings. Allison de Groot & Tatiana Hargreaves are two of the most admired musicians on today’s roots music scene. This acclaimed Canadian-American duo draws on influences from folk, old time Americana and bluegrass, creating a sound that’s adventurous, masterful, and original. Canadian banjoist Allison de Groot has achieved success as a member of Molsky’s Mountain Drifters and in a duo with step dancer Nic Gareiss. American fiddle ace Tatiana Hargreaves has performed and recorded with luminaries including Jake Blount, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. Allison and Tatiana’s 2019 debut album garnered glowing reviews, and their second album Hurricane Clarice (2022) continues their adventurous approach to traditional music. Bill and the Belles - Wednesday 14th June 8.00pm (doors 6.30pm) We are delighted to welcome back Bill and the Belles who played here back in 2019 at Sweet Sunny South festival where they went down a storm! This entertaining Tennessee trio combine old time Americana, bluegrass and country roots, with glorious vocal harmonies and exquisite musicianship on fiddle, banjo and guitar. Bandleader and guitarist Kris Truelsen is also an award-winning producer and presenter for WBCM Radio Bristol at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, Tennessee. The line-up is completed by fiddler Kalia Yeagle (who also teaches Old Time Music at East Tennessee State University) and banjoist Aidan VanSuetendael. As the house band for historic Radio Bristol programme Farm and Fun Time, Bill and the Belles regularly perform alongside America’s top roots music artists. Now syndicated by television network PBS, the show airs in around 20 million homes throughout the southern USA.
