Privacy Statement

The Friends of American Old Time Music and Dance along with all other organisations in the UK have to, by law, comply with General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR). The GDPR is the primary law that governs how organisations protect personal information.

What and where do we get our information from

We collect the following information on members joining:

First name and last name
Postal address
Email address
Home phone number
Mobile phone number

Anybody registering for our email and blog do so by subscribing on line direct with Mailchimp, giving their name and email address.




Where we store your information

We keep your information on two password protected computers.

The news email and associated blog data is held by Mailchimp; security details of this system can be found at:
https://mailchimp.com/about/security/

We also keep your name and address on a password protected database for magazine and subscription renewals.

If you cease membership of FOAOTMAD your data will be removed from our records after 12 months. 


How we use your information
  • To notify you via email to give you information regarding old-time sessions, events and performances.
  • To send you your Old Time News magazine and FOAOTMAD subscription renewals.

Photographs   We take every care to ensure that where photographs are included in our magazine and on our website that, where required by the GDPR, they do so with the subject's consent.

Social media  Where individuals post photographs or videos on our social media sites such as Facebook they should make every effort to ensure that the individuals who appear are aware and give their consent.

Disclosing your data to other individuals, companies or organisations

We will not give out your membership information to any other party than those mentioned above and for the reasons stated.

Your rights and choices

If you would prefer not to receive our information email, you can opt out at any time by using the Mailchimp unsubscribe link, as shown on each message.
